Horseback Riding

The entire 53 kms of the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail is open for horseback riding. It is possible to ride the full length of the trail in a single day, from Simcoe Street / County Road 2 (south of Manilla) in the west to Ackison Road (near Peterborough) in the east. However, there are no overnight accommodations along the trail for horses and riders.

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling

The west portion of the Kawartha Trans Canada Trail is open to snowmobiling during the winter months. This section extends from Simcoe Street / County Road 2 south of Manilla in the west, eastward to Monarch Road near Lindsay. The east section of the trail, from Lindsay towards Peterborough is not maintained for snowmobile use.
